Summary:

Congress Centre
Congress Centre is the operating name used by the TUC to market the wide range of conference and meeting facilities in Congress House, the central London location of the TUC. The venue includes a self-contained hall seating up to 500 people with high technical in-house presentation facilities, seventeen meeting rooms, a further three off site and a cafe bar serving breakfast and lunch daily.
Conference and Sales Co-ordinator (Job Ref: MSAD/76/09)
Grade 5, Salary £28,479 per annum, rising incrementally to £28,975, including LW
Fixed term for two years
35 hrs per week
Based in Central London, WC1B 3LS
The Conference and Sales Co-ordinator is responsible for the general administration and reception duties of Congress Centre. This includes, promoting and marketing Congress House facilities, carrying out sales calls to generate more business, managing the client database and co-ordinating client events. As well as having experience of working within a conference booking office and practical experience of organising multiple meetings and conferences, the successful candidate will also need:
• Hospitality Management BTEC National Diploma or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Business Administration or demonstrable ability to achieve either qualification
• ability to carry out sales calls in order to sell meeting and conference facilities
• good communication and interpersonal skills
• attention to detail
• knowledge of Events Booking Systems
• able to process invoices and produce reports as required
• good knowledge of appropriate menu selections to suit a variety of events and dietary requirements
