The Public and Commercial Services Union is one of the UK’s largest trade unions, with over approximately 300,000 members working in the civil service, public bodies and commercial service.

We are looking for a Director of Campaigns and Communications to continue to build PCS’s reputation as a leading campaigning union, with a strong voice in the media, parliament and the workplace.

 As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will play a key role in developing appropriate campaigns and communications strategies for PCS. You will manage an award winning department and be directly responsible for the strategic management of the campaigns, communications, design, print and distribution teams.

You will have a sound understanding of the processes and principles involved across campaigns and communications, including developments in e-communications and the importance of excellent joined up membership communications, as well as an extensive management background and the capacity to build relationships at all levels. Managing a team of 20 plus staff and a multi-million pound budget, you will possess strong project management skills, together with excellent problem solving abilities. An understanding of and a commitment to trade unions is essential.
